Temple fair was also called as "Temple Market". Some temple fairs only were held once a year, such as those in Dazhong Temple, Baiyun Guan Taoist Temple, Huoshen Temple, Huangsi Temple, Caishen Temple, Lama Temple, Dongyue Taoist Temple in lunar January. Temple fairs were held in the Taiyang Gong Temple in lunar February. Temple fairs were held in Pantao Gong Temple and Jiangnan Chenghuang Temple in lunar March, in Wanshou Temple and Beiding Temple in lunar April, in Wofo Temple, Du Chenghuang Temple and Nanding Temple in lunar May, and in Shanguo Temple and Zhongding Temple in lunar June. Some temple fairs of Longfu Temple, Huguo Temple, White Pagoda Temple, Tudi Temple were held several times a month, during which many people mainly went shopping, with few people burning joss sticks to Buddhas.
庙会又叫“庙市”。有的庙会是一年才开一次，比如农历正月的大钟寺、白云观、火神庙、黄寺、财神庙、雍和宫、东岳庙，二月的太阳宫，三月的江南城隍庙、蟠桃宫，四月的万寿寺、北顶，五月的卧佛寺、都城隍庙、南顶，六月的善果寺、中顶等。有的庙会是一个月开几次，如隆福寺、护国寺、白塔寺、土地庙等，这种庙会，来烧香的寥寥无几，主要都是赶庙会买东西的。
